Season 3, Episode 9 Plot Summary
The coterie prepare to follow Helena, as she goes hunting the Bowman. If she succeeds, she will be recognised as a citizen of Oxfordshire, and its Prince. If she fails, death seems likely. Velvet says goodbye to Adam, who begs him not to be a hero. They enjoy an intimate night together. Once more, Adam wants them to share blood and, once more, Velvet persuades him not to.
Silas says goodbye to Mr Whispers, who offers to be nearby if they need something. Theodore makes a deal with Rupert to get access to strong blood that will help him connect with the darkness in his soul. The next night, the coterie pick up Gareth Thomas, the Boonkeeper. It is their duty to protect him as he observes Helena's trial. They travel to the New Forest, and venture inside. Helena seems to have some idea where she's going. On the way she speaks to the coterie and tries to persuade them to help her. Velvet is slightly persuaded, but Silas and Theodore will have nothing to do with her. They come to the Bowman's lair, and find a kindred chained inside a coffin, thrashing about in a frenzy. At this point the Bowman attacks. Silas and Velvet manage to injure him, though Silas has his sword shot from his hands. Theodore is able to perceive the Bowman through the darkness and uses tendrils of Oblivion to throw him back before he can get his claws into them. The Bowman lands at Helena's feet, and the two lunge at each other in what promises to be a brutally short exchange. To be concluded next week!
